Dr. Kristen Frantz: Eastman Institute for Oral Health’s First Graduate in Combined Program
For Dr. Kristen Frantz (BS ’12, Perio ’19, Prostho ’21, MS ’21), it will be working with her friends every day that she will miss most after graduation.
The Scranton, PA native is wrapping up five and a half years at Eastman, earning a master’s degree and her Periodontics and Prosthodontics Certificates, the first one to graduate from the new combined program.
She began predoctoral studies at the University of Rochester, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Minor in Music in 2012. She then went to dental school at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry and then returned to EIOH in 2016 for a combined residency program in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. During that time, she won the Gerald N. Graser Award at the AADR meeting in 2019 for Outstanding Clinical Case Series, as well as third place for Best Clinical Poster at the American Prosthodontic Society meeting in 2020.
The Scranton District Dental Society is pleased to announce that Thomas A. Langan Jr. D.M.D., M.S., has assumed the Presidency for the 2021 term. A native of Clarks Summit, Dr. Langan has been practicing periodontics in Northeastern Pennsylvania since 2016. He is currently serving patients at Perio Health and Dental Implants with locations in Dunmore and Honesdale.
Dr. Langan earned his D.M.D. from the Temple University after graduating from the University of Scranton with majors in Biology and Philosophy. He completed a residency in Periodontics at Temple University and completed a master’s in oral microbiology.
Dr. Langan lives in Clarks Summit with his wife Kristen Epting, their son Thomas III, and they are expecting a little girl in August 2021.
Our team recently completed a navigational surgery course. This technology allows for very accurate and minimally invasive implant placement. We are excited to implement the awesome technology in our office.
Periodontal (gum) disease is a progressive condition that affects the hard and soft tissues of the mouth. This disease begins with an infection of the gums, which can cause inflammation and bleeding that leads to receding gums, tooth loss, and complications with systemic health. If you are showing signs of periodontal disease, the best choice is to seek treatment immediately. We provide periodontal treatment for every stage of gum disease and can help restore health back to your gums and smile.
Minimally Invasive Digital Implant Surgery
For decades, Dr. Frantz & Dr. Langan have devoted extensive time and education to implantology, resulting in top-notch dental implant care. Our in-house lab makes it possible for our implant procedures to be fully completed in our office, providing both convenience and comfort to each and every patient. Committed to accuracy and precision, we implement latest cone beam navigational surgery systems, such as X-Nav, to ensure we always deliver the most natural-looking replacement teeth.
